ABOUT US

Decades of experience at your service

Flumen is the project delivery service brand of Erba 96 Ltd., a Hungarian software development company with 25 employees. Founded in 1996, the company has operated under the same management ever since.

With decades of subcontracting experience, long-term collaboration is a core value for us. Many of our partners, such as Laurel, FlexSys, and Hitech, have been with us since the early 2000s, and several of our team members have been with the company for decades.

From the start, we’ve specialized in web technologies. In the 90s, we worked as subcontractors for German and U.S. tech companies. Our first Hungarian project was for SWS Books, the country’s first online bookstore. As web applications gained traction in Hungary, we partnered with Laurel Ltd., the largest retail solutions provider in Hungary, to develop e-business solutions for their extensive client base.

By the mid-2000s, our focus was primarily on e-commerce, working with both local and international companies. At one point, two-thirds of all online book sales in Hungary went through our systems. We also created the first B2B and B2C web stores for Office Depot’s Hungarian branch, an intranet webshop for the Hungarian Police, and an online store for Zwack, the producer of the iconic Hungarian spirit Unicum.

In 2004, as Hungary joined the EU, we developed EUvonal, a portal for the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs featuring a complex CMS and a call center application focused on EU regulations. A year later, we built a project management system for the IEEA, the European Union agency managing energy development projects. We also created a custom LPG canister tracking system for MOL, Hungary’s oil and gas company.

Throughout the 2010s, we worked on a wide range of projects. These included the complete frontend and backend for Expressz, Hungary’s largest classified ad service at the time, the backend for Hungary’s largest loyalty program, the tolling system backend for the Hungarian State Motorway Management Company, and a utility bill payment system for the Hungarian Post. These projects gave us significant experience in handling large-scale data and developing mission-critical applications.

Since 2015, we have been working with the Vietnamese governmental advisory group Hitech Association, and Germany based TE-FOOD GmbH. to develop a food traceability application for the Vietnamese government to improve food safety in the country. The system had been implemented by 14 provinces in tha Asian country, and is used by thousands of companies.

During the Covid pandemic, we assisted TE-FOOD GmbH. in the development of a Covid testing management system for one of the world’s largest lab networks. The system had been implemented in several countries from Australia to Singapore, from Spain to Germany, France and the UK. Its mobile app was amongst the top 50 most downloaded apps in 2022 in three countries (Spain, Germany, UK).
